Telangana Minister for Legislative Affairs, Industries, and Information Technology Duddilla Sridhar Babu categorically said that their government will not indulge in vendetta politics and will take action based on the facts and findings.

As the state assembly’s budget session will start on Thursday (February 8), the minister talked in breadth on various issues with News18.

He said that many irregularities took place in the construction of the Kaleswaram Project and the purchase of electricity, however, inquiry is going on.

He ruled out that the BRS party’s allegations were baseless. At the same time, the state government is keen to present a vote on the account budget.

“We released white papers on the state’s financial position in the previous assembly session and especially we explained the actual situation related to the power sector. We are very much committed to implementing six guarantees. We are going to present the budget in such a way that we will move forward by setting the financial situation in a disciplined manner from now onwards,” Sridhar Babu said.

The government has assured to implement the six guarantees within 100 days after it came to power, speaking on the funds mobilization to the above-mentioned guarantees, he said that they explained the way the funds were misused by the people through the white papers.

“As of now, the entire state exchequer is empty.  At any cost, we will not step back in fulfilling the promises we made to the Telangana people. On day one itself, we said that we will launch the six guarantees within 100 days and I am damn sure we will do it. They will continue without any obstacles.” he said.

The minister said that the implementation of assurances is a continuous process and they are preparing a plan accordingly.

Sharing insight on already implemented schemes, he said that they have made free bus travel to women a reality. “It has been receiving tremendous response. Though we set a target of 100 days in implementing the guarantees, if everything goes fine, we will launch them earlier before the timeline we set,” he added.

Earlier, the state exchequer received huge revenues through registrations and real estate transactions, but due to apprehensions, the revenue has reduced in recent times.

In a response to a question asked by News18 on how the newly formed government is going to overcome the hardships, he said, “Whenever there is a change in government it is quite natural that apprehensions will be created among the people and they wait and watch to see how the government is moving forward. By keeping these all issues in mind we are moving forward with a positive approach.”

Sridhar Babu also said that they will continue the public interest schemes implemented by the previous regimes. He said that if there is any necessity, we will fine-tune it.

The minister categorically said that they don’t have any inhibitions in setting right the things. Keeping in mind the favourable atmosphere in the state towards the industry sector and IT sector the government has been taking steps to implement policies to benefit the people in a big way.

Replying to a question on AICC Parliamentary Party Chairman Sonia Gandhi to contest from the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has brought the Telangana people’s wish to the notice of Sonia Gandhi in the capacity of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President. We don’t have any clarity on the issue so far. It will be decided by the party central election committee on who will contest which place.”

The minister said that they are least bothered about the trolling against the chief minister Revanth Reddy and against himself during their recent visit to Davos.

“Some people spoke about the language we used and they commented that the state failed to receive investments before we reached the destination. Our performance and implementation of our plan of action will give a fitting reply to the entire criticism. A person from China will speak in Chinese, not only in the English. Now they are dictating the global economic system. Tamilians never speak in English. Those persons should stop this type of useless propaganda”, Sridhar Babu said.
