Hyundai Exter Booking Crosses 70k mark, Waiting Period Increased
In order to meet the strong demand for entry-level mid-size SUVs, the company decided to ramp up production by 30 percent.

Ever since the Hyundai Exter was released in the Indian market, it has received an overwhelming response from customers. It has been reported by the Japanese car manufacturer that the compact SUV has crossed the booking mark of 70,000 recently, pushing the waiting period by 9 months.

In order to meet the strong demand for entry-level mid-size SUVs, the company decided to ramp up production by 30 percent.

Hyundai confirmed that the majority of the orders have been received for the top model, which forced the waiting period to increase by a few months. Earlier, the company was creating only 6,000 units per month. After seeing the response from the market, the number has been increased up to 8,000 units per month.

Hyundai Exter was launched in India on July 10, 2023, at the starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and goes up to Rs 9.32 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the the top models. The car was offered in five trims: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect.

The Tata Punch rival comes with a sleek design with multiple advanced features including a bi-function projector headlamps setup, H-shaped LED DRLs, stylish R15-Inch diamond cut alloy wheels, skid plates at both ends, a shark-fin antenna, roof rails, LED turn indicators, automatic sunroof and what not. When it comes to the size, the car measures 1710mm in width, 3815mm in length, 1631mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2450mm.

Hyundai Exter Engine

Under the hood, the Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which generates a max power of 83 BHP and 114 Nm. It is also available in company-fitted CNG as well, producing a max output of 69 BHP and 95.2 Nm. The units are paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. While the trim only comes with a manual gearbox as standard.
