IRCTC and Zomato team up to elevate train travel dining, offering passengers more food choices and convenience at select railway stations in India.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has forged an exciting partnership with the food delivery giant, Zomato.

This collaboration is set to redefine the culinary journey for passengers traveling on Indian railways, offering them a delectable array of dining options through the E-Catering segment. Also, this strategic alliance promises passengers more choices and unparalleled convenience during their rail adventures, elevating their travel experience to new heights.

Under this exciting collaboration, IRCTC has launched a Proof of Concept (PoC) at five of the most prominent railway stations in the country. These stations include New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. As part of this PoC, passengers can effortlessly order and relish pre-ordered meals through the IRCTC E-Catering portal, with the invaluable assistance of Zomato.

With the festive season around the corner, IRCTC’s catering service is all set to pamper the passengers with special services and offers. They’ve introduced Navratri thalis, keeping in mind the unique dietary needs of fasting passengers.

An official statement from IRCTC reads, “This is to inform that in view of widening the range of options available to rail passengers for ordering food of their choice under IRCTC’s E-Catering segment, IRCTC has tied up with M/s. Zomato Limited for supply and delivery of pre-ordered meals through IRCTC’s E-catering portal as a Proof of Concept (PoC) in the first phase at five Railway stations i.e. New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow & Varanasi.”

Besides this, Zomato’s stock made headlines by hitting a 52-week high of Rs 115 on October 18, following the news of its partnership with the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corp (IRCTC). It’s clear that this collaboration is not just a win for passengers; it’s a win for everyone involved.
