JEE Main 2024: List of Unfair Activities That Can Debar Candidates From Appearing in Exam
JEE Main 2024: Candidates who are found to be using unfair means in the exam will be charged with the Unfair Means Case (UFM)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the JEE Main 2024 from January 24 to February 1, 2024. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main) 2024 will be held in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates who have successfully registered for the JEE Main exam will be able to download their hall tickets/admit cards three days before the commencement of the test.

The exam city information will be issued in the second week of January 2024 while the results will be declared on February 12, 2024.

Days before the exam, the agency has listed down certain practices that may result in the cancellation of the JEE Main for candidates who engage in ‘unfair practices’.

According to the information provided on JEE Main’s official website, the following activities will give a candidate an unfair advantage over other students and are thus classified as unfair practice:

— Any candidate found in possession of a prohibited item or article in the exam hall will be treated unfairly.

— Other unfair practices include using someone else to write an exam (impersonation) or prepare material for copying, breaking examination guidelines or any instructions given by NTA in relation to the JEE (Main) 2024 exam, helping other candidates commit malpractices, and offering or accepting assistance of any kind—directly or indirectly—or attempting to do so.

— It will be illegal and considered unfair practice to attempt to contact or communicate with anyone who isn’t a member of the examination staff during the exam, to threaten officials or candidates, to use inappropriate methods during the exam, and to manipulate or fabricate online documents such as rank letters, admit cards, or self-declarations.

— Forced entry or exit from the exam hall, the use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the examination centre, and the affixing or uploading of incorrect/morphed photographs/signatures on the application form/admit card/proforma containing bits of paper are strictly prohibited and will be considered illegal.

— Candidates should keep in mind that those who are caught using unfair means will be charged under the Unfair Means Case (UFM). The candidate may be barred from appearing again for three years and face criminal charges. In addition, candidates who use unfair means in the JEE (Main) 2024 will have their results cancelled and will not be declared.
