Jagan Reddy Takes Swipe At Sister Sharmila, Asks People To Defeat TDP, ITs Allies in Polls
Though the budget during the TDP rule was the same as now, it failed to implement even a single welfare scheme for the poor as Naidu pursued the policy of plunder, stash and devour, the CM alleged

Taking a dig at his sister and Andhra Pradesh Congress Chief YS Shamila, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said that some leaders have joined the party which had bifurcated the state “illogically” and did “injustice” to the people of the remaining part of Andhra state.

Sharmila became the President of APCC and slammed her brother Reddy at her swearing-in ceremony, saying the CM fought for the special status for Andhra Pradesh as long as he was in the opposition and ignored the demand after he became the Chief Minister.

Addressing a public meeting at Uravakonda town of Anantapur District on Tuesday, the Chief Minister countered his sister’s comments.

“Chandrababu Naidu has several star campaigners including his sister-in-law (BJP Chief Purandheswari), his coverts in BJP, foster son Pawan Kalyan and the pseudo-intellectuals who conduct debates in the media. These star campaigners are no match for my star campaigners who are beneficiaries of various welfare schemes,” he said.

In a veiled jibe at Sharmila, Jagan Reddy said another campaigner has joined the Telugu Desam Party – TDP team.

Jagan cautioned people that a vote for the opposition would result in losing welfare schemes.

“Your vote for YSRCP is not just a vote for Jagan as Chief Minister. You must remember that the slew of welfare schemes will continue only if Jagan continues as Chief Minister. I may not have foster sons and friendly media. They may think that YSRCP has no star campaigners. But as beneficiaries of a slew of welfare schemes, you are my star campaigners,” the CM said.

Though the budget during the TDP rule was the same as now, it failed to implement even a single welfare scheme for the poor as Naidu pursued the policy of plunder, stash and devour, he alleged.

With the implementation of YSR Aasara, YSR Cheyuta and Sunna Vaddi (zero per cent interest) and other schemes, 91 per cent of the C and D grade self-help groups in TDP rule have now transformed into A and B grades while their NPA (Non-Performing Asset) value has come down to 0.17 per cent from 18.36 per cent, according to the CM.

He further said that a whopping amount has been spent on DBT welfare schemes for the uplift of weaker sections of society.

The Chief Minister said that he is only depending on people and God and the people have to take upon the responsibility of defeating the TDP and its allies in the elections.
