VELLORE: VIT University is organising a three-day international conference on the theme ‘Recent Trends in Advanced Materials’ (ICRAM-2012) from February 20. The aim is to bring active researchers together from various disciplines to showcase their research results and forge new cross-disciplinary interactions among the delegates.Experts from Japan, Spain, Slovakia, France, Czech Republic, Singapore, UK, Korea, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and India are participating in the conference. According to VIT chancellor G Viswanathan, the conference is intended to be a forum for establishing interface among researchers around the globe in the field of advanced materials research. It is expected to dwell upon many important topics of international relevance that included Synthesis Methods, Crystal Growth of Advanced Materials, Ferroelectrics, Magnetic Materials, Polymers and Composites, Meta Materials, Catalytic Materials, Organic-Inorganic hybrid Materials, Smart Materials, Nanomaterials, Nonlinear optical Materials, Thin and Thick films, Bio Materials, Thermoelectric Materials, Sensors, Semiconductors, Super-conducting Materials and Ceramic Materials.Around 800 research articles and 400 posters will be presented by the delegates. The top hundred articles will be published in the periodical Advanced Materials Research- Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. The conference is sponsored by DST, DRDO, CSIR, MoES, BRNS and other private organizations. Prominent industries in materials synthesis and characterization like Bruker, Jasco, Metricon, Mittal, Amil, Indfurr, Marvel Engineering and SP Ceramics will put up their stalls during the conference.
