Indian Govt Issues HIGH Risk Alert For iPhone Users: Update Now!
CERT-In has identified several vulnerabilities in Apple products that could allow a hacker to gain access to your information and even attack your devices.

If you own an iPhone, a Mac, or even an Apple Watch, please note that the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has issued a ‘high’ risk alert due to multiple vulnerabilities that were found in iOS, macOS, tvOS, WatchOS, and Safari.

According to CERT-IN’s advisory, several vulnerabilities in Apple products have been identified. These vulnerabilities could potentially allow a hacker or another nefarious entity to gain access to your security-sensitive information, bypass security measures, execute denial of service (DoS) conditions, and even conduct spoofing attacks on a targeted device.

Who Is At Risk?

All Apple products running the following versions of tvOS, iOS, macOS, and WatchOS versions are at risk:

  • iPhones running iOS versions before iOS 17.2 and 16.7.3.
  • iPads running iPadOS 17.2 and 16.7.3.
  • Macs running on Sonoma versions before 14.2, Ventura versions before 13.6.3 and Monterey versions before 12.7.2.
  • Apple TV devices running on tvOS version 17.2 and earlier.
  • Apple Watches running on WatchOS versions 10.2.
  • Safari browser versions before 17.2.

How To Stay Safe?

If you forget to update your Apple devices, you can set them to update automatically so you don’t have to worry about it when you are busy.

Also, users should learn to spot phishing attacks and fake file attachments, and enable two-factor authentication on all their accounts. These steps should go a long way in safeguarding your digital life, and all your devices.

What's your reaction?
