Video: Dhoni loses cool in Bangladesh defeatSport
‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni of India is a man who rarely lets his feelings be known.
His demeanour on the pitch is such that he hardly broke form even after smacking Nuwan Kulasekara for a huge six to seal the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka in grand style.
But as a resurgent and somewhat boisterous Bangladesh side pinned Dhoni's men in the first ODI at Mirpur on Thursday, it seemed India had lost more than just the match.
Dhoni let out the frustration in the 25th over as India, chasing 308 for victory, slipped to 115/4. The Indian captain while completing a single shoved debutant left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman out of his way. The contact with the powerfully-built Dhoni forced the Bangladesh player off the field to get treatment. He returned to the field to take a match haul of 5/50 in 9.2 overs.
The 19-year-old Rahman, who got similar treatment from Indian opener Rohit Sharma earlier in the match, had a tendency to get in the way of the batsmen in his follow through. It seems unlikely, though, that after his ‘brush’ with Dhoni, Rahman would be veering off his line ever again.
