KTM has revealed the 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R, which follows the road-biased Adventure S that was showcased a month ago. The company has made this bike with the goal of making it easier to ride and even more capable by adding lots of new features. KTM has redesigned the chassis and has introduced a longer swingarm in the new Super Adventure. The steering head of the bike has also been moved 15mm back for sharper steering. Here are the details which one needs to know about the bike:
Design: The Super Adventure R is inspired by the livery on the 990 Adventure and gets contrasting blue, white and orange paint themes. The bike comes with a slightly lowered seat and a narrower profile for better dial in. Speaking about the suspension, the bike continues with a fully adjustable 48mm WP XPLOR fork and a fully adjustable WP PDS rear shock, both with the same 220mm of travel as before. Talking about the tyres, the Adventure R runs on Bridgestone A41 adventure tyres and are mounted on aluminum spoked wheels. The airbox of the bike has been redesigned for easier access to the air filter and the steering head has been pulled back by 15mm.
Engine/fuel tank: The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is powered with a 1,301 cc LC8 twin that makes 160 hp of power and 9,000 rpm and generates 138 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The BS6-compliant engine of the bike has been tweaked with a lighter crank case and updated pistons. The weight of the engine is now 1.6kg lighter.
Features: The features of the bike include new full-LED headlamp, 7-inch TFT display which is controlled by redesigned switchgear, a raft of electronic assists, off-road ABS, motor slip regulation, cruise control, keyless ignition and a lot more.
Launch in India: The date of the launch of Super Adventure range in India has not been disclosed yet.
