Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has been recognised as the world’s most punctual airport over the last three months by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
With an impressive track record of on-time departures – 87.51 percent in July, 89.66 percent in August, and 88.51 percent in September – KIA has firmly established itself as the leading airport on the global punctuality stage.
Cirium’s latest on-time performance (OTP) monthly report for September 2023 hailed KIA, stating, “88.51 percent of Kempegowda International Airport’s flights took off punctually.” This achievement is a testament to KIA’s unwavering commitment to efficiency and punctuality.
Notably, other airports that also made it to the top five in global punctuality over the past three months include Salt Lake City International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and El Dorado International Airport.
During September, KIA not only excelled in on-time departures but also posted an impressive on-time arrival rate of 79.46%. With a network that encompasses 88 routes and collaborations with 35 airlines, KIA stands out as a key hub for air travel.
Kempegowda International Airport, India’s third busiest airport, is witnessing remarkable growth, having served around 31.91 million passengers during FY 2022-2023.
Meanwhile, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport claimed the third position in the large airport category for September, marking a proud moment for the Indian aviation industry.
