CES 2024: Honda Unveils New Logo For Future Electric Vehicles, Deets Inside
Since 1981, Honda has not made a significant alteration to the “H mark” until now.

Honda has revealed a new logo that will appear on its upcoming electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

The Japanese brand has finally updated its iconic logo, which has been in use since 1981.

Honda unveiled a new “H mark” with a simplified shape and a more modern appearance as part of the reveal of its new Series 0 Electric Vehicle (EV) models at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.

According to the company, the logo is intended to demonstrate its commitment to EVs and will first appear on “next-generation EVs,” including production versions of these Series 0 vehicles, which are scheduled to arrive in 2026.

As per Autocar, Honda claims that “two outstretched hands” are represented by the new logo. It’s the current H with a thinner, more understated design—minus the trapezium border.

It looks a lot like Honda’s original logo from 1963. The 1969 redesign of the original logo, which was used worldwide until then, had a somewhat taller design than the new one, despite having a similarly thin appearance.

Furthermore, Honda showcased two upcoming electric vehicle concepts at CES 2024: a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and a sedan called “Saloon.” Most likely, the upcoming 0 series “Saloon” will be the first vehicle to sport the new Honda emblem. It is unclear if Honda will use the new logo and “spell out” the brand name on the rear of the vehicle.

The first new model to wear the logo is likely to be the production-ready Series 0 “Saloon” concept, which is scheduled to debut in 2026, so it looks like we’ll have to wait a few years for it.

With the Prologue EV Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), which just went on sale in the North American market, Honda introduced a new design for its badging system.

Honda will continue to use the previous iteration of their logo for their upcoming 2024 Prologue electric SUV, which is built on a GM platform. In addition, we’re not sure if any non-EV Hondas will ever use the new H. However, Honda has previously stated that by 2030, EVs and fuel-cell vehicles will account for 40 per cent of its new car sales, 80 per cent by 2035, and 100 per cent by 2040.

For the Indian market, which is still a while off, Honda is reportedly preparing an EV based on the Elevate. Whether the company will introduce its new logo in India using this new SUV is still to be seen.
