Ducati has just launched its most advanced and sporty Multistrada yet, the all-new Multistrada V4 RS, priced at Rs 38,40,600 (ex-showroom) in India.

This exclusive model is part of a limited series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Multistrada family.

The Multistrada V4 RS will be available at Ducati dealerships starting September 2024. It will come in Iceberg White color option.

Design

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS blends the sleek and sporty look of the Multistrada line with racing technology, similar to what’s used in Ducati’s super sports bikes. The “RS” in its name stands for Racing Sport, reminding us of another Ducati model, the Monster S4 RS, which was built with the same principles.

This bike features several carbon fiber parts like the front mudguard, custom handguards, heat shields, and the front “beak,” all of which contrast nicely with colors inspired by the Desmosedici MotoGP bike.

One standout feature is the titanium seat support frame, which not only adds to the bike’s sporty feel but also saves 2.5 kg in weight compared to the standard frame.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is produced in a limited, numbered series. Each bike has its unique number displayed on a black anodized aluminum plate with the Italian flag, attached to the triple clamp.

Engine

Under the hood, the Multistrada V4 RS boasts the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, renowned for its smooth low-speed power and high-rev performance. The engine, paired with a special Akrapovič exhaust and sportier air filter, produces 180 bhp and features a STM-EVO SBK dry clutch. This clutch, made from billet aluminum, enhances smoothness during braking and gear engagement while adding a distinctive metallic sound.

One of the advantages of the dry clutch is the ability to boost performance using Ducati Corse Performance Powered by Shell Advance oil, developed from Ducati’s collaboration with Shell in Superbike and MotoGP. Furthermore, the Multistrada V4 RS requires valve clearance checks every 30,000 km.

Features

The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with advanced electronics, similar to the Multistrada V4 S. It includes radar technology for Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). Riders can choose from four Power Modes (Full, High, Medium, Low) and utilize Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC), and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up&Down. These features are fine-tuned across four Riding Modes: Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban.

For the first time in the Multistrada series, the V4 RS introduces the Full Power Mode in Race Mode, delivering maximum power in all gears with quick throttle response. The EBC is adjustable on three levels, allowing riders to customize engine braking.

The dashboard has new sporty graphics, showing settings for DTC, ABS, and DWC. Ducati Traction Control and Wheelie Control activities are highlighted by flashing indicators on the screen.

Chassis and ergonomics

The Multistrada V4 RS is built with a new chassis and a 17- inch front wheel, offering improved handling and sportiness. It uses a monocoque aluminum frame slightly steeper than the V4 S and Rally. The bike is equipped with lightweight Marchesini forged aluminum wheels and Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres.

Suspension is managed by Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active electronic suspension, while braking is handled by 330 mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 265 mm rear disc with a Brembo caliper. The Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME Cornering ABS and lighter carbon fiber and titanium elements save an additional 3 kg compared to the V4 Pikes Peak.

Accessories

Ducati’s Performance catalogue offers a range of accessories to enhance both performance and style. Options include plastic or aluminum side cases, tank and passenger seat bags, and large windshields. To highlight its sporty look, accessories such as billet aluminum levers, footrests, and brake and clutch reservoirs, along with carbon fiber details, are available to make the Multistrada V4 RS even more versatile and visually striking.
