The top two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield was in the news multiple times last year, all thanks to the latest launches and updated products in the portfolio. However, in terms of sales, the company was not able to perform well as it has reported a 4 percent YoY decline in domestic sales last month.
It has been reported that RE sold 57,291 units in December 2023, which is lower as compared to the same month in 2022. The report also revealed that the Chennai-based brand has witnessed a dip of 7 percent in both domestic and export sales. Last month, the RE sold over 63,387 units, while in 2022 same month, the number stood at 68,400.
Royal Enfield Performance
When it comes to year-to-date (YTD), the brand was able to sell a total of 6,30,273 units in the domestic market (2022-23). The number landed the company in growth margin of 16 percent, which is positive as compared to 2021-22, where it managed to sell 5,42,818 units.
All New RE Himalayan
Meanwhile, Royal Enfield ended 2023 on a positive note by launching an all-new Himalayan. It was introduced at the starting price of Rs 2.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.84 lakh for the top models. To note, the mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
RE Shotgun 650
Apart from this, the brand also unveiled the production-spec Shotgun 650 in the international market, which shares an almost similar design to the model that made an official appearance in Motoverse 2023.
Engine
The company’s custom-made Shotgun is powered by a 648cc, generating decent power in the competitive segment. The rare edition comes with an amazing hand-painted work, featuring a black-blue color scheme all over the body. The small neon detailing on the fuel tank is what makes it unique, and enhances its overall styling.
