Volkswagen India unveils Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition for festive season, offering exclusive design touches and dashcam recording.

Volkswagen India has finally launched the much-anticipated exclusive limited-edition version of the Taigun.

Priced at Rs 16.3 lakh(ex-showroom), the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is set to captivate a select few. This unique edition is available for online bookings only. The deliveries for the Taigun Trail edition are set to begin during the festive season.

Volkswagen has combined style and practicality seamlessly, offering a range of exterior and interior features and design elements that will leave you in awe. The design highlights include Black-colored door garnish, Black ORVM with red garnish, and a Black Roof Foil.

Besides this, the GT Edge Trail Edition stands out with its cosmetic enhancements over the standard Taigun as it boasts a ‘Trail’ badge on the tailgate, unique decals adorning the rear fenders, doors, and C-pillars, practical roof rails, sleek blacked-out 17-inch alloys, and eye-catching red-finished front brake calipers. The color options include Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Candy White.

Step inside the Taigun Trail edition, and you’ll feel like an explorer. With Trail-themed seat covers, puddle lamps, and sporty foot-pedals, you’re all set for any adventure that comes your way. Furthermore, it gets three stunning exterior color options: Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey.

Volkswagen has introduced an exclusive dual-camera Digital Video Recorder (DVR), or Dashcam, to capture your everyday moments. This advanced feature records both what’s happening outside and inside your car, and you can easily watch it on the built-in 5.08 cm IPS LCD display.

The Taigun Trail edition’s DVR offers a bunch of cool features, including a 140 degree ultra-wide viewing angle, loop recording, impact sensor, motion detection, parking monitoring, low-light recording with 6 IR lights, automatic recording when the engine starts, and even the ability to capture and replay pictures.

Under the hood, Volkswagen offers the 150 bhp, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, for the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition.

At the price point of Rs 16.3 lakh, the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition maintains parity with the mid-spec GT trim it’s based on. Notably, it comes in at Rs 2.06 lakh less than the pricier GT Edge Limited Edition, derived from the top-of-the-line GT Plus variant. The Taigun continues to face off against formidable competitors like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Honda Elevate.
