Prajwal Devaraj, who has been balancing multiple intriguing film projects, has officially approved his 40th undertaking, tentatively titled PD40. The actor is all set to collaborate with Gurudatha Ganiga, the director of Ambi Ning Vayassaytho. This exciting project was announced during the Navratri festival, alongside a visually stunning poster laden with deep symbolism.

The poster prominently showcased a massive buffalo, hinting at the enduring belief that humans can subdue nature. This notion, however, has been repeatedly disproven, as depicted by the powerful buffalo charging toward the actor, who courageously strives to establish his dominance using only his bare hands.

Gurudatha revealed in an interview that the movie will unfold in the picturesque coastal setting of Nagarkanda and will delve into the theme of human-animal conflict. The director, who made a significant breakthrough in 2018 with Ambi Ning Vayassaytho, featuring Ambareesh and Sudeep, is carefully planning his second directorial project to ensure it stands out as something truly distinctive.

Gurudatha said in a recent interview, “In Sandalwood, it’s uncommon to have a multi-hero culture. It’s rare to see one actor appearing in another actor’s film. Many are concerned about being part of ‘another hero’s’ project and its impact on their image. Edagaiye features a group of fresh, young filmmakers with a different perspective. It’s not just content-driven but also promises to be highly entertaining.”

Gurudatha explained, “When we crafted this unique cameo, we aimed to include an actor known for their work in content-rich films. Despite considering various options, we couldn’t find a more fitting choice than Nirup. He was particularly enthusiastic about the special role. As for why it’s special, that’s something the audience will have to experience on the big screen.”

Prajwal Devaraj, having recently completed his roles in Mafia, Gana and an unnamed project, is gearing up to begin shooting for his next film under the direction of Kalai Master. Following that, he will embark on Gurudatha’s project, slated to start filming in January 2024. In addition to directing, Gurudatha Ganiga is also taking on a producer’s role alongside VK Films. The film’s music will be composed by Sachin Basrur and Abhimanyu Sadanandan will serve as the cinematographer.
