A user on the micro-blogging site ‘X’, formerly Twitter, recently shared a distressing incident concerning his female friend who faced sexual assault from a Rapido auto-rickshaw driver in Bengaluru. In a social media post, user @JustAnkurBagchi shared the harrowing details of the incident, revealing that the woman not only experienced inappropriate touching by the rickshaw driver but was also forcibly thrown from the moving auto when she resisted.
In the viral post, the user issued a cautionary statement, stating, “Rapido enables sexual predators. Do not use Rapido.” He then proceeded to narrate the horrifying incident, stating, “One of my friends got sexually assaulted last night by a @rapidobikeapp auto driver. She was touched inappropriately and when she pushed back, she was thrown out of a moving auto.” The user further disclosed that despite his friend filing a complaint with Rapido, the company merely apologised without providing any details about the auto-rickshaw driver.

Concerned about his friend’s well-being, the user concluded the post by seeking assistance in locating the perpetrator: “We’re working on sorting this out, but in the meantime she needs medical care. If you have any leads on how we can find this guy, ping me.” He also issued a warning, advising against women using the Rapido app.
The post garnered widespread attention, with users urging the original poster to report the incident to the police. The Bengaluru office responded to the post, requesting, “Please provide specific area details of the incident and your contact number via DM.”
Meanwhile, this incident is not the first of its kind in Bengaluru, as the city has previously witnessed cases of sexual harassment involving women in auto-rickshaws. An earlier incident involved an Uber driver making unwarranted sexual advances towards a woman in Bengaluru. The user shared the distressing experience online, seeking assistance in addressing such misconduct.

According to the account, the girlfriend encountered inappropriate behaviour from an auto-rickshaw driver associated with Uber, who continuously stared at her and made lewd comments during the ride. The driver even lingered until she entered the building, registered, and rushed upstairs.
