Late Actress Leelavathi's Son Vinod Raj Wants To Build A Temple For Her
In an interview with a portal, Vinod said that his mother was like a goddess to him.

Veteran Kannada actress Leelavathi passed away at a private hospital in Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru city on December 8. She died at the age of 85 years after suffering from health issues related to old age. The veteran actress has been living with her son, actor Vinod Raj at Nelamangala for the past few years. In an interview with a portal recently, Vinod said that his mother was like a goddess to him and for the Soladevanahalli village as well. The village is located in Bengaluru’s North Taluka. Vinod said that he would like to build a temple, dedicated to the memory of his mother in this village. According to Vinod, his mother had worked hard to raise him in Soladevanahalli. The Krishna Nee Kunidaga actor said that he will worship his mother’s idol every day. According to him, he will also bow his head in front of his mother’s idol every day with utmost devotion. Vinod told the portal that this is how he would like to spend the rest of his life.

In the interview, Vinod also recalled the learnings from his mother. He said that his mother always taught him to help people who are in need. Vinod also said that she taught about realising the difficulties of other people and taking the required initiative for their help.

According to several reports, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar visited Leelavathi’s residence to inquire about her health when she was ill. Noted Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar and several others also visited her residence. Siddaramaiah mourned Leelavathi’s death and called it painful. He said that he visited her home and inquired about her health. “Talked to her son Vinod Raj. I pray for her soul to rest in peace,” said Siddaramaiah, as quoted in a report by NDTV. Former chief ministers BS Yediyurappa and Basavaraj Bommai also condoled Leelavathi’s demise.

Leelavathi was born in Belthangadi in Dakshina Kannada district. She is known for her roles in the movies Bhakta Kumbara, Santha Thukaram, Bhakta Prahlada, Mangalya Yoga, and Mana Mechchida Madadi.
