New Delhi: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday said India's defence Budget for 2011-12 had been hiked to Rs 164,415 crore.
This will mark an over four per cent increase from the 2010-11 allocation of Rs 147,344 crore.
Mukherjee also told the Lok Sabha while presenting the annual Budget that the capital expenditure for defence in 2011-12 would be scaled up to Rs 69,199 crore, up from the Rs 60,000 crore in 2010-11.
He said any further requirement for defence of the country would be met.
