New Delhi: Human Resources service provider Ma Foi Randstad on Thursday projected well over five lakh fresh jobs being generated in the first half of 2010, on the back of economic recovery.
The company's Employment Trends Survey for the first quarter of 2010, projected 70 per cent jobs to be created during April-June alone.
A total of 5,01,027 jobs will be created in the organised sector in India in the first half of the year, with 3,47,463 jobs, are projected to be created during the second quarter of 2010 alone.
"Revival of economy has brought back positive sentiments and the organised sector is back on hiring mode. In addition to job generation and rise in salary levels, we also expect intra-sector movement of skilled workforce," Ma Foi Randstad CEO (India & Sri Lanka) K Pandia Rajan said.
The survey, conducted across 13- industry sectors and 8 cities, found Delhi and NCR were the top job provider cities with 20,700 jobs expected to be created in the second quarter, followed by Mumbai (14,900), Chennai (11,900) Kolkata (8,350),Bangalore (6,800), Hyderabad (6200), Pune (5,400) and Ahmedabad (3,260).
Majority of the jobs for March-June 2010 are to come from sectors including healthcare (96,248), real estate & construction (52,115 jobs), hospitality (49,000), IT sector (34,000) and media & entertainment (28,700).
The Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector is expected to add 15,800 jobs to the economy.
