The former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra has made a big prediction ahead of the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he went on to say that Yashasvi Jaiswal could have a big season for the Rajasthan Royals.
Jaiswal has had a stellar home series against England in the five-match affair where he has already racked up 655 runs in the first four games which include two double-centuries and two fifties. He is expected to carry on his form into the IPL as well.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra went on to highlight the Rajasthan Royals’ opening duo of Jaiswal and Jos Buttler as the best pair in the current season.
“I feel Rajasthan’s opening combination of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler is amazing. It could be ranked No. 1. I am saying that firstly because of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s current form. It means his 600-plus IPL season is almost loading,” said Chopra.

His previous season was his best as he racked up 625 runs in the 2023 edition which included five fifties and a century as well. But the side were unable to secure their spot in the qualifiers as they finished fifth on the points table.
The former Indian cricketer sees Jaiswal who is already brimming with confidence to carry it into the upcoming season and go up a level as well in terms of performance.
“When you head into a tournament with such confidence, you bat at a different level, which he did last year as well, but will do with more maturity this year,” Chopra added.
The youngster has already made his mark in the Indian Test squad and the T20I side. He made his debut in whites against the West Indies where he scored a brilliant 171. Despite a lacklustre T20I debut, he quickly turned things around with an unbeaten knock of 84 against the West Indies once again.

He has carried his form into the big series against England and seems to already fit into the side with big performances which helped the side secure the series with their win in Ranchi. He will be hungry for more runs with the final Test taking place at Dharamsala.
