India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup has been released and two Chennai Super Kings players– Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube– have found their places in the 15-member team. Sharing a video of the duo, the five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions came up with a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with a caption that read, “Big Stage. Big Men.” The post featured glimpses of Jadeja and Dube training at the CSK camp. Fans might have expected Jadeja earning a call-up for the mega event but for Dube, it was nothing short of a dream-like moment.

Shivam Dube had been knocking at the door for a prolonged period. He was exceptional in the last season of the IPL where CSK claimed their fifth title. Dube played an impactful knock in the final against Gujarat Titans. The Southpaw came in to bat at No. 3 and scored an unbeaten 35, which comprised two sixes. Dube has represented India in 21 T20Is in his career so far. He has registered 276 runs while picking eight wickets.

While Shivam Dube is credited for building the foundation, it was Ravindra Jadeja who unleashed his inner beast to guide the Chennai Super Kings to a win in the 2023 IPL final. After MS Dhoni returned to the dressing room, the Indian all-rounder had to chase ten runs in the final two deliveries. Jadeja first smashed Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma for a six and followed it up with a boundary, claiming a last-gasp victory.

Shivam Dube made his appearance for Chennai Super Kings in the last IPL as an impact player. He is serving the same role this year as well. In his nine appearances in the 2024 IPL, Dube has racked up a total of 350 runs including three fifty-plus scores, batting at a strike rate of over 170.

Ravindra Jadeja has had the opportunity to bat in five matches and has scored 157 runs including one half-century. He has taken six wickets at an economy rate of over 7. Jadeja and Shivam Dube will be in action in Chennai Super Kings’ next game against Punjab Kings, scheduled to be hosted at Chepauk on Wednesday, May 1.
