'I Am Here': Watch Rashid Khan Unleashes Boss-like Celebration After Hitting Winning Runs in RR vs GT Match - WATCH
Rashid Khan stamped his authority in the IPL by delivering the winning runs for GT to end RR's unbeaten streak in the 2024 season.

Gujarat Titans’ star all-rounder, Rashid Khan was able to keep calm under pressure in a last-ball thriller against the Rajasthan Royals to get his side over the line and hand the table-toppers their first defeat of the season. The Afghanistan international managed to score the winning runs to give GT an astounding victory against the odds.

Scoring the winning runs for GT, Rashid looking at his teammates, pointed to the ground, stamping his authority and showing that he can be a force to be reckoned with as a bowler and also a batter. The non-striker, Noor Ahmad along with his other teammates from the bench came over to embrace the hero and hug the Afghanistan ace for giving the side a thrilling victory.

Coming in to bat at the 18th over, Rashid was under pressure from the beginning as GT required 40 runs in the 15 deliveries remaining in the innings. But the pair of Rashid and the former RR member, Rahul Tewatia managed to pick up the pace by attacking in the penultimate over bowled by Kuldeep Sen.

Sen had a brilliant start to his game by delivering some crucial wickets. He got the in-form Sai Sudarshan out in his first over of his quota. This was then followed by the double blow to get rid of both Matthew Wade and Abhinav Manohar in the 11th over of the innings.

But he was not able to keep the pressure under control as he stuttered in the death overs conceding 20 runs in the 19th over turning the tides in GT’s favour. Tewatia struck two boundaries while Rashid edged one for four more runs. This coupled with extras amounted to 20 runs being given in the second to last over.

The job wasn’t done yet for GT as they still needed 15 from the last six deliveries. Avesh Khan has been the Royals’ go-to man for the death overs and this time he wasn’t getting his lengths ride as he gave away a full-toss which was flicked towards the backwards square-leg boundary for four runs to start things off.

Despite getting his yorker right in the next delivery, Rashid who was deep in his crease managed to squeeze it towards long-on for two more. But the pressure was on the Royals as Rashid sliced one past the keeper for four more runs.

With two runs needed for the final delivery, Avesh made the big mistake of bowling a length delivery which was then slapped towards the point region for the boundary and secured the win for the Titans.
