IND vs ENG, 2nd Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal Scores Maiden Double-Century of Test Career
With his double century, Jaiswal now becomes the third youngest Indian batter to reach the milestone in Test cricket at just 22 years and 37 days of age, and the fourth left-handed Indian batter to score the same in Tests.

There seems to be no stopping young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, who continued to pile on the runs against England on the second day of the second Test in Visakhapatnam, as he reached his maiden double-century with ease.

Jaiswal got to his maiden double century in 277 balls with a fabulous sweep shot off debutant Shoaib Bashir.

His 201-run innings so far has consisted of 18 fours and 7 sixes, taking both the grounded and aerial routes at will.

With his double century, Jaiswal now becomes the third youngest Indian batter to reach the milestone in Test cricket at just 22 years and 37 days of age, and the fourth left-handed Indian batter to score the same in Tests.

The 22-year-old has tortured English bowlers galore, taking them on with ease, except for the likes of James Anderson, who has been in exceptional form himself.

Jaiswal did miss out on a hundred in the first innings of the opening Test in the Hyderabad Test but he showed tremendous composure in Vizag to breach the three-digit mark and has kept the momentum going today as well.

Jaiswal had scored his maiden Test century on his debut against West Indies in July last year. Facing the Caribbean bowling attack at Windsor Park in Dominica, Jaiswal had pulled off a fabulous knock of 171 in the first innings back then. With this, Jaiswal emerged as the third India opener, after Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw, to claim a century on Test debut.

Jaiswal was India’s star performer with the bat yesterday having stitched a solid 90-run stand for the third wicket to earn an advantage for the hosts. The 22-year-old played an aggressive brand of cricket and brought up his hundred with a six over the long-on region.

After a flurry of wickets fell across the day, Jaiswal still remained calm and collected at the crease, as he continued to play the waiting game and took to the England bowlers when needed, with grace.

Jaiswal ended the day on 179* alongside R Ashwin as India took put on 336/6 at stumps on the first day, and are now on the lookout to set a big total for the English batters to chase.
