India vs South Africa, 1st ODI: Johannesburg Weather Forecast And Wanderers Stadium Pitch Report
Check here for Sandton weather forecast, rain prediction and more for the 1st ODI match between India and South Africa.

Having tied the T20I series 1-1, India will now be looking to seal a series victory against South Africa in ODIs. The Men in Blue will be missing some key stars in the series including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul will be donning the captaincy role in the absence of Rohit. Rahul last captained India in the ODI series they played at home against Australia before the World Cup. India won that series 2-1. Speaking of India’s last ODI game, India would be looking to shake their ghosts from the World Cup at home. They haven’t played an ODI ever since their heartbreaking defeat in the final to Australia.

The two cricket giants will clash at the Wanderers Stadium in Sandton on December 17. South Africa also had a good World Cup. They were one of the first teams to make the top four before losing to Australia in the semis. South Africa’s only other defeats in the tournament came against the Netherlands, and India.

Pitch Report:

The pitch at Wanderers is batting-friendly. Rain can cause problems on the pitch by introducing moisture which could help bowlers with more pace variations. Without the rain factor, pacers can expect some help in the first few overs of the game.

Weather Report:

Sandton will remain partly cloudy on December 17 with a six per cent chance of precipitation. The average temperature should be around 30 degrees Celsius and at night it is expected to drop to 19 degrees Celsius. Humidity should range from 52 per cent to 62 per cent while wind speeds should hover around 10 km/h to 13 km/h. Rainfall should not be a problem in Sandton on the matchday.
