‘Nostalgia Pro Max’: Bowler Sourav Ganguly Takes on Batter Jacques Kallis in the Nets
In the clip, Ganguly can be seen delivering a couple of slower balls straight down the pitch against Kallis who hits both shots defensively.

Pretoria Capitals have sent cricket fans on a nostalgic trip with their latest video featuring Sourav Ganguly and Jacques Kallis. Widely regarded as a fearless captain in his prime, Ganguly decided to put his bowling skills to the test against the South African all-rounding great.

The video was uploaded by the franchise cricket team on X in a post that read, “Dada vs Kallis. Nostalgia Pro Max. #RoarSaamMore #SA20 @SGanguly99 @jacqueskallis75”. In the clip, Ganguly can be seen delivering a couple of slower balls straight down the pitch against Kallis who hits both shots defensively. The former Indian skipper then takes a minor run-up for a slightly faster delivery, bringing a smile to the faces of both the retired cricketers.

A few fans have now reacted to the video with one of them saying, “Two of the game’s greatest”.

While a second fan wrote, “Some feel-good content!!!”.

Former Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) President and one of the sport’s biggest icons, Ganguly is currently visiting South Africa for the SA20 franchise cricket league. He is the mentor and Director of Cricket for Pretoria Capitals. They even uploaded a video of the former cricketer on X while writing, “Just come back harder, that’s the only way you can get better’. Some words of wisdom from our Mentor and Director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly”. Jacques Kallis was appointed as the coach of the Capitals in 2022.

Sourav Ganguly was an impactful skipper for the Indian cricket team. Known by his iconic nickname of ‘Dada’, Ganguly scored over 7212 Test and 11363 ODI runs for India. He even guided the squad to an ICC Champions Trophy triumph in 2002 while reaching the final of the ODI World Cup the following year. Dada’s cricket career did not see him represent the Indian squad in the T20I format ever. On the flip side, Jacques Kallis has represented South Africa in all three formats of the sport while scoring 25,534 runs and scalping 578 wickets. Despite impressive numbers, Kallis never won an ICC event with his national squad.

The second edition of the SA20 tournament began this year on January 10. The Pretoria Capitals began their campaign three days later against Paarl Royals. They lost that match by 27 runs after a strong bowling performance from the Royals. The Capitals lost a second successive match against the Royals on January 14. They will play their next game against Durban’s Super Giants at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium tomorrow.
