As the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) return home for their next fixture against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the hosts made some tough decisions in a bid to turn their fortunes in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. RCB on Monday benched the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj from playing as they won the toss and opted to bowl first at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Speaking at the toss on Monday, skipper Faf du Plessis confirmed the changes in their playing XI, stating that the team has handed a debut to New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson.
“We are going to have a chase. It has been the same throughout the season. It’s been a bit slower. We haven’t played our best cricket. Feels like most of the time we haven’t played to our full potential. We have made changes to see if we can turn it around. Maxwell is sitting out, Siraj is sitting out. Ferguson is coming in,” Faf du Plessis said at the toss.
On the other hand, The Sunriers fielded an unchanged XI as they look to jump higher in the points table.

“The way we have gone about it, there have been a few great wins. Can’t win every game in T20 cricket. We go in with the same team as the last game. You never know here at the Chinnaswamy, (sometimes) 240 is par,” said SRH captain Pat Cummins.
