The captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma along with the BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah offered their prayers at the Siddhivinayak Temple with the T20 World Cup 2024 title.

The captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah made a special visit to the Siddhivinayak Temple on Wednesday along with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy.

The two among many others offered their prayers after an extremely successful outing in the West Indies and the USA, ending the nation’s 11-year wait for an ICC title. After the prayer ceremony, the two were seen wearing pink-coloured stoles as well.

During their visit, the T20 World Cup 2024 title was also part of a pooja ceremony within the confines of the temple.

After the Indian team managed to win the title, the victory was met with immense joy among the many cricket fans within the country, ensuring that the moment will be cemented in the long-standing history of Indian Cricket.

The Indian team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, had a standout performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 where they became the first side to win the tournament with an undefeated record.

Virat Kohli played a special role where despite having a disastrous run of form throughout the tournament, he turned up when his side needed the most with a splendid half-century to help the Men in Blue put up a score which they defended to win the title.

Now the Indian team under the new Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir will begin their first Test assignment as they take on Bangladesh in a two-match series at home which begins on September 19.

Many senior stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravi Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja are expected to take part while there remain doubts regarding the participation of Jasprit Bumrah and the return of Mohammed Shami.

Bumrah could be rested to ensure that there is no risk of injury, keeping the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in mind, which takes place later this year. Shami on the other hand is yet to make a return to international cricket since the 2023 ODI World Cup.
