Shaheen Shah Afridi Posts Cryptic Insta Story: 'Can Show You How Cruel and Ruthless I Can Be... Once I Reach My Limit'
Shaheen Shah Afridi posted a cryptic story on Instagram after he was replaced by Babra Azam as Pakistan’s white ball captain.

Shaheen Shah Afridi took to Instagram to post a cryptic story after being stripped off Pakistan’s white ball captaincy, as Babar Azam was handed back the leadership role ahead of the T20 World Cup in June.

“Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be. Don’t test my patience. Because I might be the kindest and sweetest person you’ve ever met, but once I reach my limit, you’ll see me do the things that no one thought I was capable of doing,” read the text in the 29-second clip of a lion walking.

Shaheen was named T20 captain after the World Cup in India last November when Zaka Ashraf was heading the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Afridi led Pakistan in a solitary T20I series against New Zealand before the PCB decided to give back the T20I and ODI reins to Babar.

Shaheen’s appointment was made based on his ability to lead the Lahore Qalandars franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to two successive titles.

But after being named captain, Shaheen lost the T20 series in New Zealand 1-4 and also couldn’t repeat his magic with Qalandars as they finished at the bottom of the table in the recent PSL.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was also quoted by PCB, coming out in support of Babar Azam.

“It was an absolute honour to captain the Pakistan National Cricket Team. I will always cherish the memories and the opportunity. As a team player, it is my duty to back our captain, Babar Azam,” Afridi said in a statement issued by the PCB.

“I have played under his captaincy and have nothing but respect for him. I will try to help him on and off the field. We are all one. Our aim is the same, to help Pakistan become the best team in the world,” he added.
