Star Indian batter Shubman Gill turned 25 on Sunday, September 8, and he celebrated his special day with friends in Bengaluru. The right-handed batter, who made his international debut for India in 2019, was in action for India A in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and then after the conclusion of the match, which his side lost by 76 runs, Gill partied with his Indian teammates and other friends.
Several videos of Gill partying and cutting cake are now going viral on the internet.

Gill, who made his captaincy debut for India during the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in July 2024, was appointed as India A captain for the first-round match of the Duleep Trophy 2024, which was played against India B in Bengaluru. The right-handed batter got off to a good start in both innings, but he failed to convert it into a big score.
Gill will next be seen in action for India in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. He was named in the Rohit Sharma-led 16-member squad picked for the series opener at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19 onwards.
In his last Test match for India, Gill scored a century against England at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, and there will be high expectations from him in the red-ball series against Bangladesh as well.
India can’t afford to take Bangladesh in the upcoming series because the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side is very capable of hurting India. In the last Test series played against Pakistan in August-September 2024, Bangladesh managed to get the better of the Shan Masood-led side in both the matches played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Pant returns, maiden call-up for Dayal
Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was named in the Indian team for the first Test against Bangladesh. Pant, who suffered a life-threatening road accident on December 30, 2022, last played a red ball match for India on December 25, 2022, against Bangladesh in Mirpur. In the first inning of that match, he scored 93 runs.
Apart from Pant, RCB pacer Yash Dayal has earned his maiden India Test call-up. The left-arm pacer, who was famously hit for five sixes in a row by Rinku Singh in the IPL last year, has impressed with his performances in the cash-rich league this year and was also impressive for India B in the Duleep Trophy match.
