Chandigarh University Gets Nod To Open India's First AI-integrated Futuristic Campus In Unnao
The Unnao campus of Chandigarh University will be constructed in the Parsandan village of Hasanganj tehsil on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the proposal for the opening of a new first-generation AI (Artificial Intelligence)-integrated campus of Chandigarh University. According to the Press Trust of India, this campus will be opened in Unnao. On Thursday, September 19, Yogendra Upadhyaya, Cabinet Minister – Uttar Pradesh (Higher Education) handed over the authorisation letter to the university officials.

The Unnao campus of Chandigarh University will be constructed in the Parsandan village of Hasanganj tehsil on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway. The grand campus of the university will be constructed on 63.53 acres of land. Five districts around Lucknow including Unnao are part of the State Capital Region (ACR). ACR includes Lucknow and five other adjoining districts along the lines of the National Capital Region (NCR) in Delhi.

Chandigarh University’s director Jai Inder Singh Sandhu said that this will be India’s first AI-integrated futuristic campus. As per the director, the studies on this campus will start in the academic session 2025-26. A total of 45 futuristic courses in five different streams will be taught to the students on this campus.

This will include Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Health and Liberal Arts. Regarding this campus, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya said that its establishment will increase the connectivity of students of the state to high-quality education.

Business Management Courses

Jai Inder Singh Sandhu said that the Unnao campus will offer 14 graduate and post-graduate courses in business management. These courses include Business Administration, Applied Finance and International Accounting and Finance. This also includes Branding and Advertising, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Data Science and AI. In the health stream, the students will have to option to choose from 6 graduate and post-graduate courses. These include Pharmacy, Forensic Science, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics. Apart from this, there will also be two graduate courses in Biotechnology and Data Science in Basic and Applied Science.

Jai Sandhu said that the seven courses offered to the students under Liberal Arts include psychology, liberal arts, law, journalism and mass communication and graduate courses in education.

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “This campus will leverage the immense potential of artificial intelligence to ignite a spirit of ground-breaking innovation and facilitate holistic learning.”
