Today we will talk about one such boy from Bihar, who cracked several government examinations without any coaching. He worked hard with full dedication to prepare for the exams. Whenever he felt low, his friends and family motivated him to reach the milestone. Following years of hard work, he was finally able to fulfil his dream. He cracked the UPSC examination and is set to join work as an IFS officer. The name of the boy is Prince Kumar Singh. He is a resident of Rohtas, Bihar. Talking about his family, in an interview, he mentioned that his father is a Havildar in Assam Rifles, while his mother is a housewife. Presently, Prince is undergoing training as a Block Development Officer (BDO) in Bihar. He is presently waiting to receive the offer letter. After he receives that, he will travel to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration, Mussoorie for IFS officer training. He cracked UPSC despite several difficulties in life.

Prince completed his schooling from Bhabua in the Kaimur district. He then studied B Tech in Chemical Engineering from NIT Jalandhar, Punjab. He passed his graduation in 2020 after which he joined a chemical company in Gujarat. He worked there for around 8 months and then resigned in 2021 to prepare for UPSC examination. Prince worked hard for two years and successfully cleared several government job examinations. He cleared the SSC CGL 2022 and BPSC exam before clearing the UPSC examination. He also cleared the written exam of CAPF AC twice but failed to make it to the final list. Then he cracked the UPSC 2023 examination.

Prince cracked UPSC in this third attempt. He mentioned that due to some financial problems of his family, he couldn’t afford coaching. He said, “I could not afford the coaching fees of UPSC as the fees were beyond my budget. I did my preparation with the help of the internet and the previous year’s question. I joined the coaching afterwards just before the UPSC interview.”

He added that he didn’t have money to travel to Delhi to prepare for the examination. He accepted that cracking UPSC was beyond his reach, and he thought of taking teaching as a profession. Later his friends and family members supported him and encouraged him to take up this seriously. He resumed his preparation and successfully cracked the examination without coaching.

In the UPSC Civil Services exam, Prince chose sociology as his optional subject. For the IFS exam, he opted for Chemical Engineering and Forestry. His BTech degree helped him to get a better understanding of the subjects. This helped him to crack the exam easily.
