UPSC CDS I Result 2024: A total of 8373 candidates have qualified for the next stage, which involves the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the CDS 1 result 2024 on July 31, 2024. The candidates can download the CDS result for the exam on the official website: upsc.gov.in. The UPSC CDS result PDF comprises the roll numbers of the candidates who qualified for the written exam. A total of 8373 candidates have qualified for the next stage, which involves the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. After clearing the written exam and SSB interview, candidates will secure admission to the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA).

The UPSC CDS I exam was held on April 21, 2024, and it was conducted in two shifts-first from 9 am to 11 am and the second shift from 12 noon to 2 pm.

The Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA). The CDS examination is held twice a year, designated as CDS I and CDS II.

Candidates who are a citizen of India are eligible to apply. They should have a degree from a recognized university and they should not be below the age of 19. For the written exam, the exam compasses objective-type questions divided into three sections: English, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics.

For OTA candidates., the exam consists of only two sections: English and General Knowledge. Candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview, which includes personality tests, group tasks, psychological tests, and personal interviews. The SSB assesses candidates’ suitability for officer training. The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and SSB interview, along with medical examinations. The merit list is prepared according to the total marks secured in both stages.
