English Premier League club Arsenal have shown keen interest in signing Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
After Gunners failed to sign in the almost certain Gonzalo Higuain - who signed up with Napoli, Arsene Wenger is likely to use his funding on the Brazilian footballer, reports Sportsvibe.
A Cesar move has been made possible thanks to Napoli roping in Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina on loan. Caesar who signed with the Rangers last season is keen on a move away from Loftus Road which relegated despite his impressive show.
According to the 33-year-old's agent Josias Cardoso, the goalkeeper's future could be decided in a week's time and Arsenal seems to be the prime destination.
"Arsenal remain a concrete option," Cardoso revealed.
"In Italy recently I have only spoken to Napoli. President Aurelio De Laurentiis wanted him but didn't want to pay Julio's current wages.
"He is one of the best keepers in the world and after a great Confederations Cup he showed his desire to come back to Italy by demanding nothing more.
"It would have been normal for someone in his position to ask for a pay rise but he didn't."
