London: Chelsea have joined Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to secure the signature of Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez, according to The Mirror.
The Chile international is being courted by a host of Europe’s elite clubs, with Barcelona, Juventus and Inter all in the hunt for the 32 million-pounds rated man.
The west London club have already made their intention to add to their £74m January spending spree clear by launching a 22 million pounds bid for Tottenham's Luka Modric.
Sanchez bagged 12 goals in Serie A last season, and has scored 12 goals in 36 appearances for his national side.
Udinese spokesman Stefano Antonelli confirmed earlier this week that there has been interest in the player.
He said: "There are clubs who are doing everything to get hold of him - Barcelona, City, United and two Italian clubs.
"All the clubs we talked about have a chance of signing him, but right now my feeling is that he's more likely to go abroad."
