Manchester United are understood to have already started chalking out their plans for the next summer transfer window. They were one of the busiest teams this summer having spent around £180 million on new signings. Despite the massive expenditure, Erik ten Hag’s side is yet to show consistency this season. They kicked off the Premier League campaign with a win over Fulham but lost the next two matches to Brighton and Liverpool. The Red Devils aim to bring more reinforcements to the squad next summer and have already listed down their targets, according to a report by Manchester Evening News.
The article further claimed that Manchester United may consider a move for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The Juventus footballer is currently a free agent but, reportedly, demands around £8.5 million in wages. The Premier League giants may find the amount quite high even if they want to sign the 29-year-old.
Their top priority will, reportedly, be a winger and in this regard, Manchester United have kept their eyes on Eberechi Eze. The 26-year-old forward is understood to have a release clause of £65 million in his current Crystal Palace contract that is likely to reactivate next summer. The Eagles released his fellow winger fellow winger Michael Olise earlier this month, with Bayern Munich securing his signature for £50 million. Eze may also leave Selhurst Park if Manchester United decide to trigger his release clause.
Manchester United may also try to convince Everton to sign Jarrad Branthwaite. They submitted double bids for the centre-back during the recent summer window. Both the offers of £43 million and £50 million, however, were turned down by their fellow Premier League side.
Jarrad Branthwaite was valued at between £70 million and £80 million. Manchester United ultimately roped in another centre-back, Leny Yoro, from Lille, agreeing to a £52-million deal. Manchester United may return with a better offer to sign Branthwaite next year. Apart from Yoro, they have added two more defenders to the squad– Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. The English club will also, reportedly, look to sign a permanent left-back option next summer. Tyrell Malacia has been out of action for nearly 15 months due to a knee injury. Luke Shaw also remains unavailable due to injury issues.
