Kylian Mbappe Takes Legal Route Against Former Club PSG Over Unpaid Sums: Report
Kylian Mbappe is taking action against his former club, Paris St-Germain due to unpaid sums which the Frenchman was supposed to receive as per his contract.

After making his exit from Paris St Germain, Kylian Mbappe, now playing for Real Madrid could be taking legal action against his former club which could result in PSG being expelled from the UEFA Champions League.

According to a report by the French newspaper Le Monde, there is a dispute with the PSG shareholders, the Qatari Sports Investment where Mbappe is demanding payment of 55 million Euros which is yet to be paid as per his previous contract with the club.

The report suggested that out of the 55 million euros, 36 million of it is from his signing bonus which he was supposed to receive in February, the last three months of wages as per his contract and an ‘ethical bonus’ for the three months as well.

Since Mbappe is yet to receive the amount, the Frenchman has taken the legal route, referring the matter to the French Professional Football League (LFP) and, through the French Football Federation (FFF), to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

The LFP has the power to press a transfer ban via the legal team, and since the matter has been taken to UEFA as well, this could result in the club’s license being revoked, thus ending their participation in the ongoing Champions League campaign as well, at least until the matter has resolved for both parties.

Mbappe began his life as a Real Madrid player on a flying note, scoring a goal on debut during the club’s Super Cup clash against Atalanta on August 15. However, his La Liga debut was not as stunning with the side settling for a 1-1 draw against Villareal in the opening fixture of the season.

PSG have made a few signings of their own with the likes of Joao Neves, Desire Doue, Willian Pacho and Matvey Safonov as their incoming transfers. But they are yet to announce a statement signing indicating that they have moved on from Mbappe.

The Parisian club have the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio and Kang-in Lee to rely on the wings, but Luis Enrique’s men will hope that the departure of Mbappe will not hamper their chances of making a big run in the UEFA Champions League.
