Liverpool resurrect their chase for Schalke defender Papadopolous

Before it gets too late, Liverpool are looking to shake things up have decided to give their hunt for Bundesliga centre back Kyriakos Papadopolous another go.

The Daily Mirror reports that the Mersyside club, who had pulled out of the move due to the defender's knee injury are back in contention to sign the Schalke fullback.

Since Napoli are said to be close to making a bid for Reds' defender Martin Skrtel, the Greece International can see himself landing at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers had shown clear interest by saying he is aiming at least one defender for the upcoming season and with Skrtel likely to reunite with former boss Rafael Bentiez in Spain, Papadopolous might come in as a handy replacement.
