Turin: France left back Patrice Evra has completed a transfer from Manchester United to Italian champion Juventus.
Juventus says they are paying United 1.2 million pounds ($2 million) but that the transfer price will increase to 1.5 million pounds ($2.5 million) if Juventus qualifies for the 2015-16 Champions League.
The Turin club adds that it signed the 33-year-old Evra, who spent the past nine seasons with United, to a two-year contract.
Juventus won Serie A the past three seasons with a three-man defense of Italy internationals Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. But with Massimiliano Allegri replacing Antonio Conte as coach, the squad could use a four-man backline this season.
Juventus also recently signed forward Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and has shown interest in Udinese midfielder Roberto Peyrera.
