How to Evolve Dragonair into Dragonite in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite have been popular Pokemon since they first appeared in Generation 1. Many users find this Pokemon line to be cute, and Dragonite has the added bonus of being the first pseudo-legendary Pokemon introduced to the series. So how do you evolve Dragonair to get a Dragonite? Thankfully, Dragonair evolves by simply leveling up, but due to the high level requirement it can take some time. In this article we'll teach you how to get a Dragonair if you don't have one already as well as how to evolve your Dragonair into a Dragonite.
Things You Should Know
  • Dragonair can be found in the wild, but you can also evolve one from a Dratini at level 30.
  • Level up Dragonair to level 55 for it to evolve into a Dragonite.
  • As Dragonite is one of the most powerful non-legendary Pokemon, levelling your Dragonair to evolve will take more time than other Pokemon.

Evolving a Dragonair

Level up Dragonair to level 55. You can use Rare Candies, EXP Candies, or battle experience to level up your Dragonair. Once your Dragonair reaches level 55, it will evolve into a Dragonite. If you choose to use battle experience, note that Dragonair (and its evolutions) are part of the slow evolution group, which means they take the longest to evolve as they need more experience points to level up. The reason for this is that Dragonair's final evolution Dragonite is known as a "pseudo-legendary" Pokemon. Pseudo-legendary Pokemon are more powerful than most other non-legendary Pokemon due to having naturally high base stats, which in turn makes them harder to raise.

Obtaining a Dragonair

Evolve Dratini. You can find Dratini in South Province Area Six and North Province Area Two and Casseroya Lake, as well as in 3-star Tera Raid Battles. Dratini evolves into Dragonair at level 30.

Dragonair can be found in the wild. In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you can find Dragonair in North Province's Casseroya Lake or South Province Area Six as an Electric Tera Type. You can also find them in 4-star Tera Raid Battles.
