How to Stop an Online Conversation
How to Stop an Online Conversation
Conversations take place online in several forms, including Yahoo Messenger and Facebook. While they are great, these conversations may stretch on forever with farewells. Here is a guide on how to stop this.
Steps

Make sure that the conversation is truly over. For example, if someone is trying to change the topic, the conversation is certainly not over. Don't appear forceful, trying to end a conversation. Don't end it unless you have a good reason, like time crunch.

Look for clues that the conversation should end. Is a normally swift person taking longer to reply? Is he/she appearing bored? Are the only words you exchange now, "okay"?

Say something along the lines of, "It was great talking to you." Continue with how you should meet up soon and talk again. If you are bored, say you have another appointment.

Just say "gotta go! bye!" or something like that. If you have to go, they will realize that the conversation will end like it or not.

If the person responds similarly, bid farewell one last time. It is now your choice to wait for their response or to leave. If this person does not reply soon (considering that they normally reply fast), take the message and stop talking.

What's your reaction?
