A Brief Explanation of Darry Rings

What is a Darry Ring?

Darry Rings are specific rings that you can only buy once in your life for one person. Darry Rings are intended to serve as the only engagement ring you’ll ever buy for your partner. Founded in 2010 in Shezhen, China by Guotao (Tony) Zhang and Yiwen (Wendy) Lu, Darry Rings symbolize your everlasting love and commitment to your partner for the rest of your life. To purchase a Darry Ring, you must sign the company’s True Love Agreement. The True Love Agreement is a contract that represents “a promise to respect, support, and uplift each other” throughout life, according to the Darry Ring company. You’ll also have to follow the True Love Verification process when you get a Darry Ring. The True Love Verification process requires you to upload a valid government-issued ID and a selfie to ensure that you haven’t purchased a Darry Ring in the past.

Why can’t you buy more than one Darry Ring?

Darry Ring only lets you buy one ring to emphasize the lifetime commitment of marriage. You can only purchase one Darry Ring in your lifetime because the ring is meant to symbolize the devotion, fidelity, and dedication that come with having one love for one lifetime. When you marry someone, you’re promising to navigate life’s challenges together forever, and Darry Ring intends to embody this with their ring. Darry Ring’s slogan, “One Love, One Lifetime,” is meant to represent these purchasing guidelines, as well.

Symbolism of Darry Rings

Darry Rings are a symbol of your lifetime commitment to your partner. When you buy a Darry Ring for a partner, it symbolizes your deep commitment to them, as you’re essentially pledging to be their partner for the rest of your lives. Darry Rings are solid, physical emodiments of your decision to stay with this person forever. Because of this, a Darry Ring is a great way to let your partner know that you’re in it for the long haul, especially if they’re already familiar with what Darry Rings represent.

Darry Rings symbolize your promise to love them through thick and thin. By pledging to stay committed to your partner for the rest of your lives, you are committing to loving them through the exciting moments and the boring moments, through the challenges and the sleepless nights. Relationships aren’t always easy, and Darry Ring is a great way to symbolize that your love will endure, even when the going gets rough.

How much does a Darry Ring cost?

Darry Rings range from $750 to $13,300. The cost of Darry Rings varies based on the type of ring you get. Some Darry Rings, like the Bloom Side Stones Engagement Ring and the Scatter Floral Halo Engagement Ring, are priced at $950, while others, like the Pulsating Two-tone Luxury Halo Pavé Bypass Engagement Ring, come in at a whopping $13,300. If you’re looking to pay middle-of-the-road prices, Darry Rings will run you anywhere from $2,000-$8,000. Most Affordable: Round Solitaire Rose Bypass Engagement Ring ($750), Round Solitaire Affordable Floral Bypass Engagement Ring ($1,000) In the Middle: Princess-cut Solitaire Pavé with 4-Prong Engagement Ring ($3,390), Round Solitaire Snowflake Bypass Engagement Ring ($8,290) Most Expensive: Pulsating Two-tone Luxury Halo Pavé Bypass Engagement Ring ($13,300)

Are Darry Rings worth it?

If your partner is a fan of Darry Rings and they’ve said they want one, it’s worth it. If you and your partner have discussed Darry Rings and you both seem interested in what they represent, then the Darry Ring is worth it! When it comes to picking rings, it’s all about whether or not your partner will be happy with it. So, if they like the idea of one ring that you can’t ever purchase again, symbolizing your commitment, go for it!

A Darry Ring might not be worth it if they don’t fit your partner’s style. Darry Rings do symbolize a deep, lifelong commitment, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they represent the one-of-a-kind bond you have with your partner. If Darry Rings don’t mesh with your partner’s unique style, or if they haven't mentioned wanting one, you may want to go with something else. In the process of finding something more personal, you might even end up saving money, too! For example, if your partner has talked about wanting a particular type of wedding band and gemstone, pick the ring they talked about, rather than going with a Darry Ring. It’s all about picking something that they’d love, so be sure to listen to their likes and dislikes when it comes to ring shopping!

Choosing the Right Wedding Ring

Choose a stone that aligns with what your partner likes. If they’re a fan of natural diamonds, get them a natural diamond ring. If they prefer lab-grown diamonds or other stones, get them a lab-grown diamond ring or a ring made out of their favorite stone. Before investigating factors like the cost and size, narrow it down to rings with the gemstone they really like. If you’re unsure of what types of stone your partner wants in their rings, ask them! If you’re comfortable enough to discuss marriage, asking them about their favorite gemstone isn’t out of left field.

Pick a ring that represents the love you two share. Since wedding rings are a symbol of lifelong commitment, it’s important to pick a ring that represents the bond you two share. For example, if you and your partner have been through thick and thin together and you want a traditional way to represent that, pick a diamond ring. If your partner prefers a different gemstone to represent your bond, don’t be afraid to branch out! For example, if your partner wants a gemstone that represents wit and eloquence (and enjoys alternative wedding gemstones), an emerald ring would be a good choice.

Follow the 6 Cs when you’re shopping for a diamond ring. When choosing diamond wedding rings, jeweler & certified jewelry appraiser Cory Schhifter says to follow the 6 Cs: cut, color, clarity, carat, cloud, and cost. Figure out your budget, choose the cut and carat accordingly, and align the cloud, color, and clarity with what your partner likes.
