Suman Talwar, known popularly as Suman, has completed more than four decades in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. He has also appeared in some Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. He starred as the main character in over 150 films and his portrayal of Lord Venkateswara in the 1997 Telugu film Annamayya won him praise from audiences. He became well known on a pan-India level with his portrayal of the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s Sivaji: The Boss.
His die-hard fans would know that Suman is an accomplished martial artist. Having trained since school, he holds a 7th Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate. Suman recently completed 50 years since his commencement of training in martial arts. To commemorate the day, Suman was honoured at Sandarbanga Visakha Port Stadium. On the occasion, actor Suman cut a cake and thanked the organisers and president of the South India Wado Kai Karate Association. He was felicitated by members of the governing body of Dr BR Ambedkar University and YCP women leader Pedada Ramanikumari at Visakhapatnam Port Stadium along with South India Wadokai Karate Association.
Visakha North Constituency Coordinator, State NEDCAP Chairman KK Raju, Organizing Committee Chairman Kashi Vishwanath, Floor Leader Banala Srinivasa Rao, Deputy Floor Leader Allu Shankar Rao, Organizing Committee Vice Chairman Karanam Reddy Narsing Rao, 24 Ward Corporator Sadi Padma Reddy were among those present at the event.
Due to Suman’s enthusiasm and interest in martial arts, he has gained the respect and acceptance of numerous martial arts professionals nationwide as a reliable advisor. It makes sense that he is connected to and participates in practically all martial arts events held around the nation these days. He was the actor who first introduced karate to the film business and rose to fame by appearing in numerous films with karate as the primary theme. Suman is currently a member of the BJP.
