Filmmaker Gopichand Malineni has basking in the success with his two consecutive blockbusters and is now aiming to likely have a hat-trick with his upcoming action-packed drama starring Ravi Teja. The announcement has sent a wave of excitement among the fans but the team has been tight-lipped about the rest of the cast. It was initially rumoured that Sreeleela was reuniting with Ravi Teja after Dhamaka which turned out to be a success.
But now there are reports that suggest that the makers have approached Rashmika Mandanna to headline the film as the female lead. According to reports, the discussions have reached the final stage and talks are on about Rashmika’s remuneration. If the reports turn out to be true, then this will be the first time that the cine-goers will witness Ravi Teja and Rashmika sharing the screen space.
Apart from Pushpa actress, Gopichand Malineni has also roped in Varalakshmi Sarathkumar for one of the crucial roles. The actress had impressed the critics and audience with her performance in the director’s last two films Krack and Veera Simha Reddy. It is said that Varalakshmi will be essaying one of the main villains in the untitled next.
Mythri Movie Makers will be producing the project and S Thaman has been roped in as the music director. The film is reportedly about a rift between the Dalit community and the upper cast way back in 1990 in Andhra Pradesh and is based on true events. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in January 2024.
Rashmika Mandanna has a busy year with her upcoming projects. She was last seen in Shantanu Bagchi’s directorial Mission Majnu alongside Sidharth Malhotra. She will next be seen in the much-awaited film Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The film is set to hit the cinemas on December 1. She also has Rainbow in Telugu and D51 with Dhanush and Nagarjuna and her most-awaited film Pushpa 2 with Allu Arjun in the pipeline.
