Salem: A 21-yr-old college student from Salem in Tamil Nadu committed suicide by hanging on Tuesday after she found out semi-nude photos of her own self on the social networking site Facebook.
Some unidentified people had allegedly uploaded morphed photos of her on Facebook last week.
The victim was informed by her friends that a morphed semi-nude picture of her was all over the social media website.
In her suicide note the victim has claimed that her parents didn't trust her.
Post the incident, the victim was taken to Salem government super specialty hospital for treatment but was pronounced as brought dead.
The family has refused to receive the body for her last rites until the culprits were arrested and has accused the police of not acting immediately on their earlier complaint.
The police however has denied the allegations and said that the page has been blocked and the probe to arrest the culprits are in progress.
