TIRUPATI: Police have nabbed three persons involved in the murder of an ATM security guard here on Sunday. The guard was killed on the night of March 17. Speaking to mediapersons, here on Sunday, Tirupati urban police district SP, J Prabhakar Rao said that the three accused who were identified as VP Sivateja (20), G Sarath Kumar (23) both from Tamil Nadu and residing in Mangalam area along with M Haribabu (21) from the same area, on the outskirts of the town, after masking their faces went to SBH ATM centre located at APSPDCL office to burgle it.After entering the ATM centre, they murdered the security guard T Sadasivam (29) who was asleep, after hitting him on his head with a boulder and made a vain bid to loot the cash from the ATM. The security guard’s death came to light the next day morning. Tirupati urban SP, J Prabhakara Rao formed two special teams with CCS staff and Tiruchanoor police to nab the culprits.Tiruchanoor CI, T Sainath along with his staff detained the trio while they were moving suspiciously in front of a temple in Janachaitanya housing plots near Chaitanyapuram under Tirupati rural limits on Sunday morning.During interrogation, the three accused admitted that they had murdered the security guard and tried to open the ATM for the cash. The accused said that they had resorted to the crime to earn easy money and also settle down in life.The SP has congratulated the staff involved in nabbing the accused.
