5.4% DA hike for RTC staff

HYDERABAD: The APSRTC has announced a 5.4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) to its employees with effect from July this year.According to RTC managing director B Prasada Rao, the DA has been increased from 24.3 per cent to 29.7 per cent and about one lakh employees will benefit with this decision.The hiked DA for September will be paid along their salaries in October and that of July and August will be paid directly when the funds are granted.The hike would result in an additional burden of Rs108 crore on the corporation.
