While some of them were worn by her daughter-in-law, the others were left upstairs where the newly wed couple had been living since marriage recently. The family left home around 6.30 pm to visit relatives on Friday evening while the doctor’s younger son, who was preparing for his examinations, was at home. The family returned around 9.30 pm to discover the the rear window broken open and the valuables missing. Kotturpuram Inspector K Ramesh who visited the scene of crime came told Express that it could have been a handiwork of habitual offenders. “We have been scanning the culprits that use this modus operandi for burglary.  We will be able to detect the missing property soon,” the Inspector said.Sources said that the house was constructed without taking any safety precautions and the window that was removed by the culprits was accessible even to a child.7 year old missingA seven-year-old speech-impaired boy was reported missing from Rajiv Gandhi Street in Nesapakkam after he went out to play on Tuesday. Police said that a complaint was preferred by the boy’s maternal uncle Raju with whom the boy had been living ever since his mother’s death five years ago.Raju told Express that Dhanush(7) had lost his speech ability after he had witnessed the suicide of Geetha, his mother.“We could not admit him to a regular school because of the impairment and were forced to admit him in a special school in Virugambakkam. He came back from the school and went out to play and never returned.
