HYDERABAD: Will people see a personality makeover in chief minsiter N Kiran Kumar Reddy? According to sources, Reddy was asked by party chief Sonia Gandhi to change his style of functioning. He should stop living in an ivory tower and instead circulate himself and mingle with party leaders.The suggestion was made by the party president after many complaints that Kiran Reddy is averse to eliciting opinion from others on important issues. The charge against Kiran Kumar Reddy is that he does not involve the ministers concerned even while taking important policy decisions. The party chief also advised Kiran Reddy to be media savvy and try to interact with media persons on as many occasions as possible.According to sources, Sonia Gandhi at the meeting with him in Delhi, told him to involve all ministers and MLAs in development programmes. The party president was also unhappy with him for not being able to communicate with people even on decisions that benefited them. The chief minister responded positively to utilisation of funds earmarked for SCs and STs in the sub-plan for their welfare without any scope for diversion.The state decided to spend Rs 1,800 crore to provide input subsidy to farmers. But the news of neither of them had reached the people in the way that it should to help Congress.Earlier too, when Kiran Reddy took special care and had clause 14 F deleted from the Presidential order which helped youth in Hyderabad in recruitment to the police department, it was not highlighted adequately.
