BANGALORE: Speak to be heard. Bangalore-based marketing executive Neil Chauhan and few of his friends have started a new viral campaign on Facebook to raise the voice of the citizens. A campaign that reminds us, not to settle for anything less than 100 per cent, and also contribute to the betterment of the world around us.The campaign was started on September 8 by creating a page called ‘Citizens Against the Swalpa Adjust Maadi'. This was started by five active social medium users Kay, Rafi, Mosses, Tiwari and Neil to make a difference at the present situation in Bangalore. This bunch of friends are not looking to protest. They travel through the city, peacefully holding placards that read ‘Not to adjust’ and ‘Nothing less than 100 per cent’.Said Neil, “We are still at an infant stage. We have a long way to go. But now all we want to do is to remind people that we don’t really have to adjust to anything. We have the voice of the citizen and we can fight for the betterment of our city. We must make sure that we shouldn’t accept anything that is not 100 per cent.”Our city is considered to be the hub for delays. “Bangaloreans are laid-back and they adjust to the slow pace of the developments. The metro project has missed several deadline, and the bad roads are never fixed. We get used to the troubles around us. No one fights back,” said Neil. Keeping these things in mind, he and his friends started the campaign. These five youngsters want to tell the authorities that people won’t keep adjusting to everything that is thrown at their faces. This team constantly travels around the city, with their little mobile phone cameras and interview people about the social problems that they are facing time and again. The interviews have been posted on the Facebook page and has already received over a 100 hits in less than five days. The videos talk about problems such as delay in the Metro project, lack of infrastructure and other social challenges faced by the people of Bangalore.
