THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘5ters - Castle of Dark Master’, touted as ‘India’s first big fantasy feature film’ by its makers, will hit the screens on Friday in four languages, including Malayalam. The adventurous movie for children is a potpourri of animation, visual effects and live shots, its director G Venugopal said at a press conference here on Wednesday.Venugopal is planning a simultaneous release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu also. With more than 80 per cent of digital effects, the film is an amalgamation of live action, 2D & 3D animation. "We wanted to make a film with computer graphics and animation on a scale never seen in India so far. And I can proudly say that with ‘5ters’, we have successfully managed to do that,” he said.Almost 1,600 shots are graphically made and it is a combined effort of a set of innovative artists. The film tells the story of a journey taken by five kids who get lost in the forest on a school trip. Involved in various thrilling adventures, they get a deep insight into their role and responsibility in the future of the world. The film sends across a message on the need for protecting nature in the wake of global warming. “Fertile imagination, strong storyline and a deep understanding of the psyche of Indian kids led to the development of the film ‘5ters’. Stunning visual locales, dazzling visual effects and path-breaking animation make ‘5ters’ a visual treat for all,” Vijayalakshmi N S , storywriter and associate director and digital production head, said.Animation director Ratheesh K, along with the visual effects supervisor Vazeem Azhar and creative supervisor Subhash K S, worked in realising animation and visual effects on screen. The cast includes Avinash, Theja, Hithaishini, Samart, Akash and Gagan.The film has been produced by Morphosys Information Pvt Ltd and distributed by Sree Sai Combines.
